The Arches @ Dean Clough : Wedding Venue

November 2, 2016

When we were approached by our long-standing client, Eat Me Drink Me, to collaborate on a new venture, we jumped at the chance. This Yorkshire based company are caterers extraordinaire, and we knew that anything they were further involved in would be unique and a bit of a one-off – and we were right.

As caterers to wedding and events venue, The Arches, they wanted a website which would appeal to brides and grooms who wanted something a little more industrial, a bit more stripped back, for their event. The food, we knew from having done the main catering website, would be photographed exquisitely and so very quickly began to form some creative ideas about the shape the website could take.

We were thinking minimal text and big, bold imagery. The kind of feel that the building itself had, having once been an industrial Victorian mill. Although extensively renovated and converted, the history of the building is still evident, with bare brick walls, exposed beams and girders, huge original windows and vaulted ceilings – and we wanted to ensure that the website reflected the history of the building, whilst at the same time showcasing the catering and venue dressing. We hope we’ve done just that…

We used three signature rotating images on the homepage, so that each time a visitor lands on the homeapge, they will hopefully see a new image. How beautiful are these?

Again, in order to not detract from the visuals with too much text, downloadable PDFs were added for the menus and the wedding brochure, and we kept the navigation simple using a scroll. Go feast your eyes…
