FlowerFest Comes to West Didsbury

May 30, 2016

You’re very soon going to be seeing some very snazzy, upcycled planters – made by our friends at Cactus Designs from reclaimed scaffolding planks – springing up in and around West Didsbury.

Thanks to a cash grant from the City Council and a very generous contribution from The Metropolitan’s recently awarded Community Grant, we’ve been able to work with The Met, the WDRA and Cactus Designs to bring a splash of colour to Burton Road and Nell Lane. Many of our independent businesses have “adopted” a planter, and like proud parents, will be tending their FlowerFest blooms over the summer. This isn’t a one-hit wonder however, as we’ll be replanting in the autumn – West Didsbury will be blooming lovely all year round!

Thank you to volunteers who came along today to The Metropolitan and got stuck in. And big thanks especially to the businesses we’ve collaborated with who made this possible, especially The Metropolitan, WDRA and Cactus Designs.

Additional thanks go to W. Robinson & Sons for their very kind donation of bedding plants, and my long-suffering other half over at We Are Life Design, who is *always* being asked to “knock up a quick logo”. Thank you for FlowerFest 🙂
