A Site of Beauty…

April 26, 2011

We first met Claire Jones three years ago when she came to Didsbury Life to promote her new mobile beauty business. As her business grew, so did her profile and she decided it was time to brand the company. However, the company was still quite small and as someone setting up on her own, Claire had to be very mindful of costs. So, we designed a homepage, secured the domain name and simply linked from her homepage to the relevant pages on her profile. A simple and cost effective – but stylish – solution…

Business has continued to blossom and recently she decided the time was right to have her own website. Having already forged a very close working relationship with Claire through our promotion of her on Didsbury Life, she clearly had no hesitation in coming to our sister design agency, WeAreLife, to create a bespoke website.

Claire was very clear about what she wanted. She wanted her website to have a boutique, high end feel to it – to reflect the service she provides for her clients. She wanted her website to stand out from the crowd. No pinks. No lilacs. She wanted a website that had a feel of sophistication, but that suggested at girls having fun. She was an ideal client – one of those clients who has done their homework and so has a vision, but is not so set in that vision that they won’t take advice. Consequently, this was a really fun project to work on. And, now that the site has gone live, we do think that we’ve delivered what Claire wanted…

We also felt that using stock images for a beauty site was a bit predictable, so after a call out on Twitter for photographers, Lydia McKay was given the task of photographing real people in real beauty situations. The results are rather fabulous, we think…

So, all in all, we’re very delighted with our latest project with Claire – who, like a lot of our clients, we now count as a very good friend – and, we’re sure this is just the start of the next phase of our relationship. But, as the saying goes, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so over to Claire…

Four years ago I entered the Didsbury Life office unsure of web promotion, business networking and in fact a little apprehensive and unsure of what to expect. I remember seeing Helen behind the desk and feeling instantly welcomed. Following a brief chat I went away awaiting my very first online advertisement…

There is something very special when you see your business on the web for the first time, however there is nothing like your first customer that comes from it!

The Didsbury life community is growing day by day and for me, being a part of the website has been essential to the success of my business. A few months ago we embarked on the task of developing my new website and WeAreLife, together with Didsbury Life, have created something very special for me. As a mobile beauty therapist a website is like your ‘shop window’, the first thing a potential client sees before choosing you so that is why I would not have trusted anyone else to have done the job for me.

From a single advert to a whole new website, Didsbury Life and WeAreLife have been there quietly supporting and advising helping me make informative and forward thinking decisions for my business.
