Life Helps MacleodBradley to Evolve

January 23, 2011

It seems like many moons ago that Helen Bradley, owner of West Didsbury’s award winning salon on Lapwing Lane in West Didsbury, South Manchester, came to WeAreLife for us to update her website. Knowing the salon well, we felt that the orange themed website was just a bit too busy and didn’t reflect the uber-glamorous feel of salon.

Firstly, we arranged a photo shoot – we wanted the website to be very visual and with a “boutique” feel.

So, stylish photos in place and “mood” was set for a very bespoke website.

Whilst we normally avoid wallpaper style backgrounds, we felt that this would be in keeping with the new look MacleodBradley. We opted for clean, cool colours and a sprinkling of italicised Georgia font to suggest a hint of opulence. We also a created a simple online shop which now enables Helen to sell products while she’s sleeping ๐Ÿ™‚ The logo had previously been created by WeAreLife and this was carried right across the MacloedBradley brand, from website to appointment cards to shop signage, another aspect of the project delivered by the Life team. Gate-fold appointment/business cards and Twitter branding completed this stage of the project.

MacleodBradley could be just a client, who we did some work for. But, here at WeAreLife, we don’t work like that. We like to think that we attract people who have a vision and who understand that sometimes a design job is just the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration. Of course, it doesn’t always work like that – but when it does, it’s a bit special.

That’s why we now count Helen, from MacleodBradley, as not just a client, but a friend. After all, it’s not every day you get to chew the cud with clients over a big glass of red wine in Folk Cafe Bar ๐Ÿ™‚
