Some of Life’s Creative Output : May…

May 16, 2010

Just cannot believe we haven’t blogged here at Life since April 20th. It hasn’t been due to laziness – there just doesn’t seem to have been a spare moment, but this weekend, we’ve shut up shop and are taking a little bit of time to recharge our batteries. So, this seems like an ideal time to think about the lovely things we’ve been involved in over the last few weeks.

We’ve completed the website, business cards [with lovely spot UV, done by our Didsbury friends], letterheads and comp slips for Didsbury based, eco-friendly property  development company, Shape Developments. The website went live a couple of weeks ago, just in time for Shape director Mark Pickles to attend The Grand Designs Awards in London, the company having been nominated in the Eco Homes Category. Although pipped to the post by the house on stilts, you can see Shape’s Didsbury nomination on the Grand Designs Awards website. You can also see what we did with Shape Developments by visiting the lovely new website

We’ve also had some really nice words from Mark Pickles – over to him:

‘Life helped us with the rebranding of our property development business and with the creation of a new company website. They produced a great range of potential logos which made the selection difficult but I’m delighted with the one we’ve adopted and it always generates a very positive response. Their designs for the business stationery were equally impressive and the website they have created is fantastic, way better than I had hoped for. Having worked with a number of web designers and branding specialists in the past across different projects, large and small, it was really refreshing to work with Pete & Chris at Life;  they very quickly tuned into the ethos of our business and translated it into a brand which fits perfectly. The whole service was excellent; creative design, slick production and good value. I’m very happy to recommend them.’

We’re delighted to have once again collaborated with the gorgeous MacleodBradley in West Didsbury. We’ve worked with Helen and the team really closely over the last few years, helping them to develop the MacleodBradley brand – Helen is very forward thinking and innovative and is always considering ways to move her business on. Hence, the new MacleodBradley website, which now incorporates an online product store.

Hope you like having a browse around – and, if you’ve not experienced MacloedBradley before, why not check them out?

The last few final tweaks are being done on the liveRES website – we’re really excited about this one as it spills over into Didsbury Life too. We have a feeling that our restaurants are going to benefit massively, and customers will also like this too. More details in next blog, when it’s hopefully live…

To complement the website we did for Pinchjo’s of West Didsbury – – we’ve also been working on flyers and new menus. If you’re following Pinchjo’s on Twitter [] you’ll have been invited to the event on Monday 17th. If you’re not following, click on link & do so – it’s the only way to guarantee special invites. You can also check out the new, funky menus as you make your choices…

We’ve also just had an Art Preview at the Didsbury Life offices. We’re really lucky to have such fab premises on Burton Road with lots of white wall space. We took the decision that we weren’t going to fill the space with bland artwork that you’d see in offices all over the country & decided to “loan” out the wall space to emerging artists. We’ve had some fantastic work on display, most notably the now much talked about photography by Mark Nelson. Mark’s work can still be seen at the office, but it’s now been joined by the amazingly colourful & abstract canvases of Chaz-Newton-Smith. We had another great preview evening last Friday – watch Didsbury Life if you fancy coming along to to the next one.  We don’t charge anything for artists to exhibit – and if you sell anything, we don’t take a cut. The pleasure for us is having an eclectic mix of regularly changing art on the walls – if you’re interested in exhibiting, email with jpeg examples of your work.

So – bit of a round up of what we’ve been up to here at Life. And, we will try harder to blog on a more regular basis!
